Aloha, After many months and many hurdles, the air is back on at Kohala Burger & Taco.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our great customers who put up with the heat, my staff who worked long days in it. Jay our Admin Asst who has baked in the back.
I also wanted to thank everybody who played a role in getting this done. Our landlord, Kohala South Investors, for offering us a lease in which it made sense to make such a significant investment. Christie Crawford at the Bank of Hawaii, which provided the funding for the project. Alex and the entire "No Sweat" HVAC Team & Koa Electrical Productions.
This was not a repair. This is an entirely new system. We opted for total replacement in April when we determined that further repairs to our previous system was potentially damaging to our environment as well as fiscally foolish.
I also felt obliged to answer a few of my critics that claimed I had "no air" due to not caring or being too "tight". This new A/C investment represents over 50% of our after tax profits from 2013 and we wanted to be sure we would be here to enjoy. Since our original lease was up October 2014, we needed to establish that we would be continuing to operate here in the Kawaihae Center. I am happy to report we should be nice and cool for the next 15 years.
Mahalo for your time and continued support.
